The 1898 is one of the most consistently well produced and attractive Proofs in the Morgan dollar series, and this captivating near-Gem does not disappoint. Thickly frosted, fully impressed devices offer marked contrast to glassy, deeply mirrored fields. Essentially untoned, only the lightest pale gold peripheral toning is discernible as the coin rotates under a light. Choice and appealing for the grade.
