- Circa 1793 Washington Success token. Second obverse. Musante GW-42, Baker-266, DeWitt GW 1792-2. Brass. Reeded edge. MS-62 (PCGS).
24.9 mm. 64.1 grains. A really choice piece with glossy olive surfaces and traces of lighter golden brass alive with luster in the recesses of the legend. A better strike than often seen, with about 60% or so of the all-seeing eye developed at the central reverse. A couple of trivial nicks are noted for accuracy, but this piece truly requires no apologies.
Provenance: Ex William Spohn Baker Collection, to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania by bequest, November 15, 1897.
