Lot Description

1869 Silver Three-Cent Piece. Proof-66 Cameo (NGC). CAC. Deep gunmetal-blue and rose throughout with glassy smooth fields and textured devices. Excellent surface quality and carefully preserved to retain this lofty grade level, and with strong visual appeal. The diagnostic faint die line extends up to the right through the lower portion of the shield, and the line above F in OF is noted to the rim. Mintage of 600 pieces, this one of the finer examples. PCGS# 83719. Provenance: From the Winecrest Collection. NGC Census: 9; 5 finer (PR-68 Cameo finest) within designation.
