Lot Description
1887 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-62 (PCGS). Vivid cobalt blue and reddish-orange iridescence adorns the peripheries and provides superior eye appeal for the assigned grade. Silver-tinged toward the centers with a crisp strike and reflective fields. With most of the 710 Proof Morgan dollars that the Philadelphia Mint produced in 1887 extant (per Q. David Bowers, 1993), the popularity of this issue for specimen type purposes is easy to understand. Provenance: From Heritage's sale of the Teich Family Collection, February 2014 New York Signature Auction, lot 4318. PCGS# 7322. NGC ID: 27ZG. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
