Lot Description
1805 Draped Bust Half Dollar. O-104, T-10. Rarity-5-. VF-30 (NGC). Olive brown and gunmetal patina blankets each side of this smooth and original rarity. The devices remain nicely pronounced for the assigned grade, showing just even wear across the high points. The obverse is in a late state for this variety but is not yet showing the dramatic cuds of O-104a, as seen in the following lot. Cracks encircle the entire obverse, with similar cracks throughout most of the reverse legend. A charming piece available for the first time since 1986. Provenance: From the Sutton Court Collection of Early Half Dollar Varieties. Earlier ex from our (Coin Galleries') sale of February 1986, lot 1507. NGC Census: 2; 3 finer through EF-45 (O-104 variety only). PCGS# 6069. NGC ID: 24EG. Click here for certification details from NGC.
