- Exceptionally vivid colors of powder blue and rose-orange adorn both sides of this wonderfully original, beautifully preserved 1904-O ten. Sharply struck with soft, billowy mint luster. This is the second most obtainable New Orleans Mint eagle, trailing only the 1903-O. The mintage of 108,950 pieces is generous for a ten-dollar gold issue from this Southern coinage facility, and enough examples have been repatriated from foreign bank hoards that the collector should have no difficulty locating an Uncirculated coin in the MS-60 to MS-63 grade range. Near-Gems such as this remain scarce, however, and with hardly any coins certified finer our offering of this impressive piece represents a fleeting bidding opportunity for the astute gold collector.
