- Lot Description
- 1876 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Proof-62 (PCGS).
Open bud, errant C on neck. Bright silver with a fair amount of contrast between the fields and frosted devices. Toned with a pale blush of golden-russet with a single speck just left of the reverse shield. There is an obvious "C" at the base of Liberty's neck that shows with a loupe, obviously placed there by a Mint employee. A few shallow handling marks in the fields, but strong eye appeal overall for the modest grade.
PCGS# 6437.
Provenance: From our (Stack's) Powers Collection sale, December 1959, lot 488. Lot tag included.
