Lot Description

Smartly impressed and originally toned in golden-copper and olive-brown, both sides retain appreciable mint orange color that is more pronounced on the reverse. The toning has a subtle woodgrain distribution, typical of many early date San Francisco Mint cents of both the Indian and Lincoln design types. The 1909-S V.D.B. is a highly regarded key date issue in the latter series, and this numismatically desirable Gem Uncirculated example will surely see spirited bidding.
