Description du lot
Ex Gerald R. Forsythe Collection, as noted on the insert. This is a truly marvelous SUPERB GEM, totally ORIGINAL, and very eye appealing. Near the top of the Pop, with just two finer, this beauty will delight any collector. A silky smooth example struck from a later state, so the fields have a satiny brilliance and just a hint of watery reflection. The devices are razor sharp. Both sides are dusted by a subtle tan-gold and icy-silver patina. The eye appeal is quite nice. PCGS 17, NGC 21, CAC 11. The last PCGS/CAC coin to sell in auction realized $4,818 in our March 2020 Regency Auction. Prior to that we sold one for $3,878 in December 2019; clearly the published prices have just not caught up to actual prices realized. We expect very strong bidding here, especially among Registry Set collectors. Good luck. Cert. Number 37912116 PCGS # 3887.00
