Lot Description

1794 Logan McCIoskey-3, Valentine-3. Raritv-4. AU-58 (PCGS). An attractive example with satiny lustre beneath light gold and iri¬ descent toning. Both obverse and reverse are very sharply struck with just a few light surface marks. Fine scratches are visible across upper left obverse. This is a scarce variety that is not quite as plentiful as LM-4. Two other varieties for the year are considered rarer. Cracked from the border between stars 5 and 6 to Liberty's hair, continuing to E of LIBERTY. The reverse has several very light die cracks. Half dimes bearing the date 1794 were first struck in 1795.
