Lot Description

Dusky rose-gray and steel-blue patina blankets both sides of this handsome Gem specimen. A bit lightly struck in areas, not unusual for a U.S. Mint Proof coin struck by hand on a screw press (which was the norm prior to 1894, when the Mint began striking these special coins on a new hydraulic press). Appreciably reflective in finish and equally well suited for Proof type and date purposes.
