Lot Description

Tompkins Die Stage 4/2. Lightly struck at the back of Liberty's portrait and in the opposite area on the reverse, the result of die swell, although this piece does deliver considerably sharer definition elsewhere. There is little actual wear, in fact, and golden-tinged surfaces also retain flashy mint luster to further confirm a short stint in active circulation. From the final year of the Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle half dollar design, and desirable for type purposes, as such.
