- 1849 Moffat & Co. $5 Gold. K-4. Rarity-5. Fine-15 (PCGS). Remarkably smooth surfaces for this degree of wear and a pleasing coin that was struck in early recovered California gold from the Gold Rush of 1849 or perhaps 1848. Liberty's head is pleasing too, and the eagle sports no heavy marks, as well as the rims. PCGS# 10240.
