Lot Description

1791 Washington Liverpool Halfpenny. Baker-17, W-10650. Rarity-6. Lettered Edge. Fine-15 Rough. 129.63 grains. Deep olive-brown with uniformly microgranular surfaces. Obverse rim through legend and date, only W and TON sharp enough to see on the left, no noticeable contact marks present, reverse rim through legend, LIVER weak, no serious contact marks, die cuds at rim at 12 and 2 o'clock. Well-worn but still a wholly acceptable example of this rare and elusive Conder token, popularized here in America owing to the Washington connection. PCGS# 698.
