Lot Description

Scarce Branch Mint Overdate Reasonably well struck for a New Orleans Mint gold coin, with some pitting at the lower reverse indicative of striking with rusted dies. Deep orange yellow gold surfaces with mint luster still visible in protected areas of the design. The remains of the 5 are clearly visible beneath the 6 in the date. PCGS 18, NGC 11. Unlisted in the PCGS price guide. Last auction record was $1,560 in March 2018. A special coin for the collector of dated gold. Cert. Number 34950191 PCGS # 8596
