Lot Description

A handsome piece, the obverse is dressed in blended olive and golden-brown, the reverse displays a bolder steel-brown and olive appearance. Both sides are fairly well centered in strike, although the denticulation is off the flan at upper obverse and reverse. All major design elements retain bold to sharp strike detail, and the surfaces are generally smooth with only a few light marks and a trace of roughness in isolated areas. Accuracy compels us to mention a pair of faint pin scratches in the lower left obverse field; a small planchet void in the right obverse field, close to the border, is as made.
