1853-DERI Octagonal $1. BG-523. Rarity-5. Liberty Head. AU-55 (PCGS). Delicate silvery highlights to honey-orange surfaces. Both sides also exhibit bold to sharp detail throughout the design. This scarce variety, attributed to M. Deriberpie, was illustrated in Montroville Dickeson's The American Numismatical Manual, 1859. Provenance: From the Oregon Collection.
