Struck from the same dies that the Mint used to produce regular issue 1864 Large Motto two-cent pieces. Lovely olive-orange surfaces with tinges of warm rose and underlying pinkish-orange evident as the coin rotates under a light. Modestly, yet appreciably reflective in the fields, both sides are fully struck throughout with only a few trivial blemishes precluding an even higher grade. One of a dozen or more examples of this off-metal striking known, per the <em>uspatterns.com</em> website.
