Lot Description

Superb satin frost provides a glow over nicely preserved fields and well struck devices. Accents of honey gold blend with the brilliant yellow-gold surfaces. For the somewhat modest grade, it is quite attractive, and we have seen coins in 63 holders that do not have the glow of this coin. PCGS 88, NGC 72, CAC 9. The last CAC-approved PCGS coin sold in an August 2014 auction, realizing $3,290. That sale took place nearly four years after the second most recent CAC coin, which sold for nearly $4,500 in 2010. The CU value is $4,200. This coin should see very strong bidding. While not a rare date, it is much scarcer than the common 1854. Cert. Number 84755348 PCGS # 7972
