1840 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-4. Rarity-4. Small Letters (a.k.a. Reverse of 1839). AU-58+ (PCGS). Splashed with bold steel-gray, midnight blue and medium rose patina, this handsome piece exhibits lighter reddish-gold and silver gray over the lower right reverse. Liberty's portrait is sharp, the eagle similarly rendered apart from the usual softness to its head and right leg.
