What a great looking GEM! Rich watery mirrors beam from below a layer of rich multicolored patina imparting a SUPERB eye appeal. This coin also has the distinction of having one of the greatest pedigrees in numismatics: John W. Garrett (sold as part of lot 304 of Stack's March 1976 auction of the Garrett Collection). Only 1,000 coins were reported struck. PCGS 22, NGC 30, CAC 7. Values for great coins like this have been beaten badly. This coin sold as part of the Blue Moon Collection in March 2017, realizing $1,293. With such great eye appeal and pedigree, we think it really should have brought more! Cert.
