WOW! After nearly 40 years in business and handling most of the greatest rarities, this is the first $5 1883-CC our sister company, Legend Numismatics, has ever handled. We assure you; we feel it was more than worthy of the wait! At first glance this coin does look better than AU58. Exceedingly clean and smooth surfaces don't crack when using a strong glass. Ticks are a zero problem here. There is a decent glowing type of luster. Both sides are an even deeper gold color. There are no spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are very well struck and show only slight even wear. The eye appeal is great! PCGS 23, NGC 20, CAC 11. CAC has beaned only 6 coins higher. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $14,100 in July 2023 and another $16,800 in August 2022. The current Collectors Universe value is $17,500.
