Lot Description

Noyes Die State B/B. Warmly and evenly toned in blended autumn-orange and rose-brown, this is a well-preserved example of the 1830 Newcomb-8 dies. A bit soft around the peripheries, largely the result of die wear, although the central motifs are sharply struck and crisp. Hard, frosty and smooth during in-hand inspection, trivial marks are easily overlooked and do not inhibit the strong eye appeal. Nice EAC AU55 quality, if not a bit better, and a find for discerning large cent enthusiasts.
