- FROM THE WOLVERINE COLLECTION. Ex Richard Collection, as noted on the insert. This is an exceptional DCAM Proof GEM. We are astonished by the deeply reflective copper-nickel surfaces. The mirrored fields are the epitome of cleanliness and clarity, and are icy smooth, with nothing more than a tiny reverse planchet flake, a single thin lint mark, and a few tiny specks seen here and there. The devices are sharply struck up and boldly frosted, standing out in full 3-D effect against the deep mirrored fields. The eye appeal is outstanding! Only 370 Proofs were struck, the lowest mintage of the copper-nickel cents, before switching over to the bronze planchets. PCGS 4, NGC 2. Don't let the populations fool you: this is the ONLY PCGS-graded example that has ever sold in auction. Its most recent appearance was in July 2014, realizing $12,925 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $16,500. There are NONE finer in the designation. This is a very important opportunity for the Registry Set collector seeking the FINEST of the fine. Cert. Number 37928566 PCGS # 92265
