Breen Die State II. Blended olive-copper and orange-brown color to both sides, the latter representing considerable remnants of faded mint color. The surfaces are undeniably and uncommonly original in preservation for a lightly circulated Draped Bust cent, and they also present as pleasingly smooth during in-hand viewing. Close inspection reveals a few faint, ancient scratches through the digit 0 in the date, on the reverse between the letters O in ONE and C in CENT, and in the upper left obverse field, but we are splitting hairs mentioning such trivial blemishes on an otherwise choice large cent that saw 20 points of circulation. Well defined despite some softness at upper reverse, this coin would make an impressive addition to a circulated type or variety set.
