1858/7 Flying Eagle Cent. S-1, FS-301. Snow Die Stage A. AU-50 (PCGS). Eagle Eye Photo Seal. Secure Holder. Medium golden surfaces exhibit satisfying underlying luster and strong design elements for the grade. No serious gouges or blemishes come to light, even under low magnification. From an early obverse die state with the diagnostic broken wing tip, raised "dot" -- actually the remnants of a date numeral -- and upper right corner of the underlying 7 plainly visible under low magnification. In later states, the "dot" above the date and the broken wing tip are the main diagnostics. A popular scarcity that many collectors happily include in their Flying Eagle cent collections.
