Lot Description: 1828 Matron Head Cent. N-2. Rarity-2. Large Narrow Date. AU-58 (PCGS). With a bold to sharp strike and predominantly smooth surfaces, this is a lovely example of the type, date and die pairing at the PCGS-certified Choice AU level. A couple of dull marks on Liberty's cheek and neck join a light carbon spot at the base of the letter O in ONE to form a trio of useful provenance markers. Warm, even rose-brown patina overall. This lot includes PCGS insert #18682800 from a earlier certification of this coin, where the grade was also AU-58. Provenance: Ex Jack H.
