1900-S Liberty Head Half Eagle. MS-63 (PCGS). CAC. Tinges of pinkish-rose blend with dominant honey-gold color on both sides of this lovely example that is also fully struck with bountiful mint frost. The 1900-S is an underrated issue whose scarcity is not fully appreciated outside the small circle of dedicated Liberty Head gold enthusiasts. Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth (2008) assert that the 1900-S is, "probably 10 times rarer than the 1900 Philadelphia issue."
