Losbeschreibung: The 1864 two cent piece with the Small Motto is a scarce variety, coveted in all grades, and VERY RARE in GEM RED. An historic issue, the first federally issued coin with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. Totally original shades of GEM Mint red are spread all over and a very strong, brilliant luster enhances the vivid colors. Sweeping cartwheels swirl boldly on both sides. Very clean surfaces reveal virtually no marks though there are two tiny toning "dots" seen only with the help of a strong glass and mentioned only for the sake of full disclosure. All of the details are slightly frosted and well struck. The eye appeal is beautiful! PCGS 22, NGC 15, CAC 8. Fewer than a dozen are graded higher.
