Lot Description

This is a wonderful CHOICE Mint State example of a very rare New Orleans date. While 84,000 were struck, PCGS CoinFacts estimates that only 225 survive in all grades. Just a few small and light traces of contact are scattered about, but it is not even close to being "chewy." A full booming luster beams boldly from all over on both sides accenting a gorgeous, brilliant yellow gold color. There are no discolorations or spots anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are "as struck" and exhibit some softness. The details do look good though. The eye appeal is super lively and terrific! PCGS 11, NGC 2, CAC 2. PCGS has graded possibly 4 coins finer, while CAC has approved 3. The published price guides are behind for ALL Mint State examples of this date. This coin has been off the market market for many years. Just a handful have been graded finer at PCGS. We can't stress enough the rarity and opportunity here! Cert. Number 41954931 PCGS # 7758
