Undated (1837-1842) Christopher Bechtler $1 Gold. K-4. Rarity-4. 28.G., N Reversed. AU-53 (NGC). Fiery deep orange-gold toning engages both sides, and a hint of retained luster is present. Slight planchet rippling plainest at 9 o'clock on the denomination side. Retrograde N over inverted N in denomination, each A in the legend is an inverted V. A popular scarcity from America's first Gold Rush.
