- Lot Description
- 1885 Seated Liberty Half Dollar. Proof-67 (PCGS). Secure Holder. This target-toned specimen exhibits cornucopiae of vivid iridescence from the rims to the centers, the colors including shades of reddish-orange, blue-gray, pale-rose and pinkish-apricot. Shimmering, reflective-finish surfaces are silky smooth in sheen with no hairlines, contact marks or other blemishes that would call into question the validity of the Superb Gem grade. With a pinpoint strike and awe-inspiring eye appeal, it should come as no surprise to read that this coin vies for finest-certified honors with only one other Proof-67 at PCGS. Original mintage for the issue: just 930 proofs and 5,200 business strikes.
