1877 Liberty Head Quarter Eagle. AU-55 (NGC). Light yellow gold surfaces are prooflike in protected areas. What a fantastic piece this must have been when first struck! Highly popular as one of the key dates among later issue quarter eagles. A few minor scratches and marks are seen overall, but these hardly detract from this coin's overall scarcity.
