- 1890-CC Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-65 DPL (NGC). A beautiful Gem example with glassy, intensely reflective fields and sharply struck, mildly frosted devices. Mottled reddish-gold patina near the peripheries frames silvery pearl-gray fields and snow-white central devices. This is a condition rarity at the Gem grade level and one of the finest seen of this date and mint, tied with at most six others as noted in the NGC Census. The majority of the 1890-CC Morgan dollars known display more handling marks when examined, and Gems are not only handsome and in demand, but quite beautiful as well. Add to the mix the desirable deep prooflike reflectivity, and you have an extraordinary coin that any specialist will desire.
