- Lot Description
- Dusky pewter gray patina blankets both sides, which also exhibit blushes of russet and pale olive as the coin rotates under a light. A bit lightly struck in the centers, not uncommon for the type, although there is plenty of bold definition remaining elsewhere. What few marks are present are well blended into the toning and are not readily revealed during in-hand viewing. All four (read: pre-Liberty Seated) early quarter dollar types are challenging to locate in the finer circulated grades, especially when well composed and pleasingly toned, as here.
