- Lot Description
- Deeply toned in antique copper with faint traces of warmer golden-brown evident as the coin rotates under a light. Peripheral detail is a bit soft, but all features are discernible, and those in the centers are boldly outlined where allowed by the advanced die state. Surfaces microscopically rough, to no great detriment at the assigned grade level, and with no sizeable marks the in hand appearance is quite smooth. The most frequently encountered die pairing of the Wreath cent, Sheldon-9 has an estimated mintage of 22,000 pieces struck from April 13 through 18, 1793. This is a suitable example for the circulated type collector. Breen Die State VIII.
