1824 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-116. Rarity-3. MS-63 (PCGS). Delightful satin surfaces are lightly toned in pearl gray iridescence that gives way to warmer reddish-gold around the peripheries. The strike is nicely centered and sharp, both the quality and eye appeal of this premium quality example strongly suggestive of a higher Choice Mint State grade. A contender for Condition Census standing for the 1824 O-116 dies, this lovely coin would do equally well in a high grade type or variety set. Provenance: From the Greenway Collection.
