- 1870 Pattern Dollar. Judd-1002, Pollock-1134. Rarity-6-. Proof-64+ Cameo (PCGS). Silver. Reeded edge. Reflective fields and frosty motifs exhibit a pleasing golden glow. Boldly struck. Barber's seated version of Liberty faces left, her toga folds draped to the ground around her, olive branch in left hand, right hand on shield, Liberty pole and cap at side, 13 stars around, date below; the present writer's favorite Barber design. Reverse struck from the regular-issue silver dollar die of the year. No other Judd-1002 has received a "+" designation from PCGS. Choice physically and aesthetically.
