- Description du lot
- The silver-gray surfaces of this evenly circulated half dime enjoy wisps of pale gold and sky-blue toning here and there, especially on the obverse. Blemish-free to the unaided eye, and only moderately marked under low magnification. One of four varieties of the date known from an estimated 44,527 pieces struck; the proliferation of dies had to do with the Mint experimenting with obverse star counts. All told, the present Draped Bust half dime would be a welcomed addition to any fledgling 18th-century type set or mid-grade half dime collection. PCGS #4258
