Lot Description
Virtual perfection! This SUPERB GEM is among the FINEST graded of the date. Flashy nickel-silver fields have a wonderful, high end reflection on both sides. Sharply struck devices are frosty and have a subtle contrast against the fields. The reverse is dusted with a lovely pastel iridescent tone that enhances the eye appeal. Aside from a microscopic planchet fleck or two, the surfaces are smooth and problem free. Only 700 were struck. PCGS 12, NGC 4, CAC 7. There has not been a PCGS/CAC coin sold in auction since our December 2016 Regency Auction where one sold for $2,585. Since then a non-CAC coin sold for $3,055 in the 2017 FUN auction and another sold for $2,760 in November 2017. The current PCGS Price Guide lists a value of $3,500. Just two PR67+s are graded finer in the designation and neither are CAC approved, making this worthy of a great set. Cert. Number 36568923 PCGS # 3828
