Lot Description

The Monroe half dollar is one of the most challenging early commemorative issues to find nice. Even in GEM, they come lackluster, poorly struck, and just down right ugly. This is NOT your typical Monroe. A thick frosty satin sheen enlivens a delicate pastel rose and azure patina. Well struck and very clean surfaces, the eye appeal is excellent! PCGS 148, NGC 81, CAC 26. There are just 23 in MS66+. The most recent example sold for $4,465 in our July 2022 Regency Auction. The PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $4,250.
