O-101a. A very PQ AU58 14/3! Interesting die cracks and clashes add lots of character to this popular early overdate. Displaying an even light gray tone with soft blue and lilac hues come out with vivid hints of original luster that shines through. Only the slightest hint of rub on the highest points of the design keep this out of the Mint State category. During the striking of half dollars using this die pair, the dies clashed and cracked multiple times, and each of these cracks and clashes appear on this specimen. PCGS 19, NGC 5. CAC 4. The last PCGS/CAC coin to sell in auction realized $3,600 in February 2018. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $4,250.
