Description du lot: 1722/1-H French Colonies Sou, or 9 Deniers. La Rochelle Mint. W-11835. VF-20. 78.7 grains. Glossy medium brown with old inactive verdigris around most devices and legends. Some patches of granularity are seen under a glass, no bad marks or scratches. Short stretch of denticles on obverse between 7 o'clock and 9 o'clock, last letters of obverse legends interrupted at rim, reverse aligned to 3 o'clock and missing some legends at right, interesting die crack up from right of B to base of central device. Good sharpness and eye appeal despite its minor surface issues. The final 2 appears filled, almost certainly traces of an underdigit. PCGS# 158629. Provenance: From the Ted L. Craige Collection.
