- Lot Description
- After the First World War, the return to normalcy resulted in a deep economic recession. The resulting crisis led to the lower mintages for all denominations except Morgan dollars. The 1921 is a semi-KEY date in all grades, and is especially scarce in Mint State. The presently offered GEM plus graded example has a thick frosty satin luster that gleams boldly all over. The surfaces have a pearly fresh silver iridescent tone with accents of soft gold. PCGS 82, NGC 62, CAC 19. There are four graded MS65+ FB. There has not been one sold since July 2018 and it was NOT CAC. More recently a PCGS MS65 FB CAC realized $7,200 in February 2021. The MS65+ FB PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $7,250. Quite scarce any finer, this is a great example for a GEM Mercury dime set. Cert. Number 12474880 PCGS # 4935
