According to John W. Dannreuther in the 2023 edition of his reference <em>United States Proof Coins</em>, the mintage of this transitional Liberty Head nickel issue is only 4,000 or so coins. The JD-1 die pairing, represented here, accounts for the vast majority of survivors and is an ideal candidate for inclusion in first-year Proof type sets.
