FROM THE DR. STEPHEN DAVIDSON COLLECTION A totally original borderline-GEM example of this short-lived type. Watery reflective underlying mirrored fields, enliven the pastel rose, orange, violet, tan-gold, russet, olive, and pale blue iridescent toning that mostly clings to the peripheral devices. Sharply impressed the details are bold and have a decent frosty texture, though not enough for a CAM designation. The eye appeal is quite lovely. Only 750 Proofs were struck. PCGS 59, NGC 50, CAC 6. The most recent PCGS/CAC example sold in the 2018 ANA auction for $3,840, and that coin was really dark. The current CAC CPG value is $3,380 and the Collectors Universe value is $3,250.
