One of the toughest classic commemorative half dollar issues, the Grant With Star saw a mintage of only 4,256. Graded ages ago, and encapsulated in an NGC "fatty" holder, this is a very scarce coin indeed. Ultra frosty, satiny lustrous surfaces show a faint blush of iridescent gold and soft pewter. The devices show very crisp and sharp definition adding to the wonderful eye appeal. PCGS 361, NGC 249, CAC 11. The last CAC-approved example sold back in October 2020, a PCGS coin that does not have the added cache of the antique encapsulation; that coin brought $2,640. The current CAC CPG value is listed at $2,590. This coin is worthy of a very strong bid. Cert. Number 165791005 PCGS # 9307
