Lot Description

1850-C Liberty Half Eagle. AU-58 (NGC). Luster survives in the fields with an attractive blend of orange-gold and the surfaces are pleasing with average or so handling marks. There is a retained die cud below FI(VE) mentioned in the Winter reference. Undoubtedly rare as such as later die states with significant rim breaks on gold coinage tend to be rare although not widely studied. The date logotype is wide and finely executed.
