- 1878 Morgan Silver Dollar. 8 Tailfeathers. VAM-23. Top 100 Variety. Doubled Die Obverse, Crazy Lips. MS-63 DMPL (PCGS). A find for the advanced Morgan dollar VAM collector, this nearly untoned example allows ready appreciation of bold cameo contrast between mirrored fields and frosty design elements. Wisps of pale silver and reddish-gold are noted, the toning faint and appearing to drift toward the rims. PCGS Population (VAM-23 attribution only): 19; 5 finer in this category (MS-64 DMPL finest).
