- From a mintage of just 9,882 coins, the 1851-D is one of the more available gold dollar issues from the illustrious Dahlonega Mint, though becomes scarce in AU and above. The present choice AU specimen displays lovely caramel-gold surfaces with solid remaining luster. Well-struck save for the blending on the AR in DOLLAR as is standard for the die marriage. Overall an ideal piece for the discerning Southern gold connoisseur.
